I really like this little flower pincushion...

Posted by Picasa

today I prepared the weaver fever quilt for quilting...as you can see the top and the batting are already on the frame... The backing is for the moment in the washer.....
Posted by Picasa

I also cleaned the mega quilter and gave it some oil....so I think one of the next days the weaver fever will be quilted. I was looking for a special quilt design but my daughter does not like a special quilting she asked my to stipple her quilt.

Crown pincushion

I saw a similar pincushion somewhere on the www, but no pattern. I saved it in my brain and yesterday I remembered it......
Posted by Picasa

Here is the pattern I made for my pincushion...
Posted by Picasa

you have to draw the pattern on Timtex (see my post: couch-potatoe)
fold the Timtex like the pattern above...
Posted by Picasa

sew two layers of fabric right sides together , but only on 3 sides...let one side open to slip the Timtex inside....close the open side and fold the whole thing like the pattern...
Posted by Picasa

sew the two circles together and with an opening for turning, stuff it, close by hand and sew the pincushion on the square like this....

Pincushion...couch-potato

A few weeks ago I saw this pincushion somewhere on the www, but no pattern. This morning by visiting Sigrid's blog I saw it again. Thank you Sigrid for the visual reminder and by the way, your blog is fantastic! This afternoon I had to give it a try.....
Posted by Picasa

Here is the pattern for my couch....
Posted by Picasa

.......
Posted by Picasa

......
Posted by Picasa

don't forget to clip the inside seams....
Posted by Picasa

I think the following steps don't need an explanation!?
Posted by Picasa

............
Posted by Picasa

.........
Posted by Picasa

........
Posted by Picasa

......
Posted by Picasa

on the last rectangle sew only one seam.........
Posted by Picasa

I cut5 pieces of timtex to give the couch a better shape....
Posted by Picasa

I cute the pieces all around 1/4" smaller than the pattern pieces
Posted by Picasa

I sticked the Timtex inside the little fabric box
Posted by Picasa

fold the seam allowance of the last piece ....and stick the seam allowance of the little box inside the box...
Posted by Picasa

stuff the piece and close the opening...sew two lines as indicated in the pattern...
Posted by Picasa

stuff the little box and close the seams by hand....
Posted by Picasa

sew the long piece to the little box...
Posted by Picasa

stuff the mini-cushions and close the opening by hand....and have a siesta! :-)

But nobody in my family is playing golf so I had no golf tee and used a srew...it works...
Posted by Picasa

it's really so cute that you can also use it (of course without the screw, but with a safety pin) to decorate a quilt or your t-Shirt? ;-)
