Spring

is coming here in Luxembourg.....
Tomorrow we will start to Spain for a short vacation until next week saturday.
No posts for a week and no sewing :-(
I hope that all my faithfull readers will come back to see the spring pics I will make in Spain.

a little quilt I sewed this week for a quilting friend....
I found the pattern here

The small quilt I designed for the Afghanistan square is finally quilted....

I still have to attach the square in the hole....I think with beads...

A different quilting bee....

no quilting last week, but we did this little wallets for children. We will give them to the kids coming with her mothers to visit our next exhibition...

I finished this little quilt today to welcome spring....hopefully!
I found the appliqué pattern on the www. When you like it I will post the link to the site tomorrow....

another small quilt I fused the last days. Gingko for my daughter Joëlle.
For the moment I can't finish it because I'm out of batting and I'm waiting "patiently" for the postman to bring me a big package...... ;-)

Watercolour placemat

2 x 2 " squares.....

Layout

place the second row, right sides together, over the first...

chain-stitch de first and second row together..

cut apart and lay out again.....

iron the seams, the first to the left, the second to the right side....

I mark the first left square with a pin to be sure where the beginning is.. :-)...

sew two units together....

the first row is finished....

now place the 4th row over the 3rd...and so on...

when ironing a row don't forget to iron the first row, seams upside, the second, seams downside....

correct ironing gives you perfect matching seams (or nearly perfect! ) :-)

back....

cut four 1" strips the length and height of your placemat...
iron them in half, left sides together...

sew on with 1/8" seam allowance....
