cut two pieces of fabric 10 X 10 " (you can take a different fabric for the lining), and one piece of batting 10X 10" , 2 pieces of coordinating fabrics 2X9"....
quilt the three layers, top, batting and lining....
after quilting cut the piece to 9 X 9 "
pin the two stripes of coordinating fabric to the WRONG side of the quilted fabric (to the side of the lining!)
sew the stripes on with 1/4 seam ...
iron 1/4 " seam....
flip the stripe over and iron.....
sew it to the right side (very small seam)....
flip the stripe over to the right side...
because I sew a lot of these bags I bought and endless zipper and cut a piece of 10-11"...
with the zipper-foot sew your zipper on one side of the bag....
make a second sewing-line just to catch the zipper on the other side....
wrong side.......
now, pin the second side of the zipper in place.....
and sew it just as for the other side......
open the zipper.....
the second seam line is easier to do from the wrong side, so you can be sure to catch the edge of the zipper.....
turn one side of the bag a little bit under so that you can secure the zipper at the end...
