I have so many leftover batik stripes....I had to sew something with them... I found a tutorial on this blog, she made a "Schlep-bag" and I thought it would be a great idea for my stripes and I need a basket for my knitting material (socks) :-)....
.......
sew your little blocks at ca 7 X 7 " and cut them after sewing to 6½ X 6 ½"
sew 16 little blocks with your stripes...
sew your little blocks in stripes of four...
cut lining and batting the same size as your stripes...
lay out, pin and sew the top, lining and batting, don't sew one small side so that you are able to turn it inside out...
cut the batting just near the seam... I don't cute the batting smaller because I want that the batting is caught in the seam...
close the "turning" opening on the small sides of the stripes...
quilt the four stripes. a narrow quilting gives more stand to the basket..
sew the stripes together like a windmill with a zig.zag stitch
