Fabric bowl

Posted by Picasa
You will need some yards (9-10) of nylon cord, the length depends on how big you will have your bowl....

secure the end of the nylon cord by burning it....

I cut fabric stripes 1 1/4". But you lso can cut them larger or smaller....it doesn't matter. You don't need to have stripes from the same fabric...you can cut different colors than your bowl will have stripes....you even can take your ugliest fabric...it will look beautiful on the bowl..give it a try!

the cord has a diameter of 6 mm so you need a very strong needle. 6 mm cord just fit under the machine foot, so don't take a bigger one....

wrap the fabric stripes around the cord...

First sew an X over the first rows to secure them. With a large zig-zag sew one row to the other....

sew as many rows as you need for the bottom of your bowl....

when the bottom is finished you have to hold your bowl like this to go upwards....
(difficult to explain :-)..see pics....

and so on.......
