Love entwined Part 4

I just finished part 4 of LE. That is the third attempt....
the first had other colours, more blue...but it was not mine...
the second one I tried broderie perse....it looked terrible...
and finally the third (all with batiks) was fine. I don't know what
others think about the colours but for me they are just right....

LE Reverse appliqué

Pattern taped to the table .Now I will lay out my background and trace it ...

trace the pattern on your background

the four patterns are traced onto the background with a quilter's pencil (it will wash out without any problems)

here are my colour choices for the next part...

I cut a square of my fabric and placed it under the background fabric so that the four segments I would like to have  in this colour are covered.  This way I can sew the 4 elements in one time. Afterwards I cut the excess fabric (and save it for smaller pieces I have to appliqué later on....

Pin the piece in place....

I basted around the four segments...not to close because I need some place to turn the fabric under...

I cut the fabric in the middle (pay attention to the fabric underneath....)

now I had to clip the fabric to turn it under. At the sharp point of the beginning i didn't clip to the end...I will do this when I come back to this point from the other side to avoid that the fabric frays...
