Make a sandwich 24 X 12"(top, batting and backing) and quilt it.... .

two rectangles for the sides 8¼" X 4" , quilt. and close the upper sides with bias binding....

......

mark the middle of the two pieces and sew the sides on the bag

sew the second side on the bag....

sew a bias binding over the raw edges of the sides ( all around)..

Pin the zipper on the inside of the bag a 1/4" down the edge of the bag
/zipper facing right side out)

Sew the zipper in place on both sides...

The zipper has to be longer on one side than the bag, otherwise you will not be able to open the bag great enough....

sew bias binding over the raw edges.......

.......

.........

............

cut out a circle (3").....baste it all around, pull the thread to form a little ball and fill it with a little bit of batting....

sew this little ball on the zipper......

as you can see I'm very happy with the embroidery modul of my Bernina 830 :-)
