Just back from a cruise: Dubai to India (Mumbai, Goa, Mangalore, Cochin) Oman and Dubai. A wonderful trip and sooo much impressions. Pics will follow!

My quilt for the Quilt Festival in Wilwerwiltz (Luxembourg) is finished.
I will show you some details, can show you the entire quilt only after this exhibition.
All the stones and monuments are embroydered freehand on a piece of fabric with
batting fused behind. Then I cut out all the pieces , fused them to the background
and embroidered again to fix them....

I'm a member of some german-speaking yahoo quilting groups and today
a member of the group "Patchwork leicht gemacht" told us about her idea to
recycle all the old ties she had collected.
Heidi cut the ties and made small little bags out of them.
I had to give it a try, here you can see the results.
A small bag for the cell phone a little purse for coins....
whatever you like...

it was an ugly tie....... but the result is cute..

Today I sewed another little bag with fabric from a tie....
