Bernina 830

I was asked where I ordered my new sewing machine, it seems that here in Luxembourg the
Bernina 830 is only available in octobre.
So, here is the website from my Bernina dealer.
I bought my first Bernina there and the service is just great!!
For the moment he's on vacation in the USA, so the shop is closed until July 14th.

Here's also the link to the Bernina site.com

Let me say a big thank you to all of you for the comments on the last post!

Weather....

It's soooo hot here in Luxembourg. I'm not sewing....
Last Thursday I was in Belgium to order my new sewing machine, the new Bernina 830!
Im' so happy!!! :-) Now I have to wait two weeks to get it. Of course I will show you pics when it arrive at his new home. :-)

For the moment I'm really not in sewing mood because my father in law is very ill. Two years ago he had a cancer and now this cancer is back and very aggressive. The med told us that it is the final stage.....I'm so sad... So when I will not post the next days I hope you understand why.

I wish you all a beautiful week and some of the sun we have for the moment here in Luxembourg!

Small gift-bag

Today I sewed some of this little gift-bags...
(Hi Chris, I hope your are satisfied with this pattern? :-) )

That's all you need + 15 minutes of your time!

the small sides of this pieces are the top....
Posted by Picasa

you begin at the top to sew on the long piece with 1/8" seam, stop sewing 1/8" before you reach the bottom, pay attention to have the needle down...
Posted by Picasa

lift the presser-foot (remember to have the needle in down position) and turn the piece...
lay the blue fabric around the curve like this and sew the next seam........

......

when the blue fabric is in place on both sides, sew the seam at the top of the bag (folding it twice)..
Posted by Picasa

turn your little bag inside out....

pin the side seam like this.......

and sew the next seam, a little bit larger than 1/8" so that you can't see the raw edges inside anymore....
Posted by Picasa

iron the long small white fabric pieces (two sides to the middle and than fold again)
and close the tubes with a narrow seam, attach the two handles to the bag......
Posted by Picasa

yeahhh, the little bag is ready to be presented!

.........

write on Vliesofix (wonder-under) everything you like,
don't forget to write it reverse!!
iron the Vliesofix on a piece of fabric, cut out, and iron the tiny pieces on your bag....
Have fun!
