The pattern for the little purse, click on the pic to enlarge
Posted by Picasa
From one point to the other point of the pair of compasses: 2 " 3/4

Transfer the pattern to a cardboard
Material needed: two coordinating fabrics, a piece of batting and a 7" zipper. My zipper was a little bit longer. It is a plastic zipper so no problems to cut it on the right lenght.

Mark the lining fabric and cut it out.

Quilt the "outside" fabric with the batting only
Mark the template on the batting side and cut it out
Pin a small ready to use bias stripe (1/2") on the 2 half circles and sew it on . After sewing fold it to the other side and unfold it to be larger on the left side.

Make some marks 1" from the cutout rectangle on both sides of the haf-circle. That's the place where you begin tu pin the zipper in place. I sewed the zipper by hand with little backstitches.
Close the bottom of the purse on the two sides

The remaining little hole from the bottom to the zipper you have to close by hand with some stitches.
Lining: turn over a small seam allowance 1/4" on the two half-circles, press! Close the first side of the purse.
Before closing the second side you have to make a little loop for your keys. Cut a strip of lining fabric 8" x 1" Fold both sides to the middle, fold it again and sew it.

Close the other side of the lining with the little loop inserted
Slip the lining into the little purse and turn it inside out.
Pin the lining in place and hand sew it with invisible stitches to the zipper.
Turn it again and your little key-bag is ready to use. Have fun.
